The latest addition to our list of Selected Charities is For Baby’s Sake. We’ve been monitoring this charity for some while because it is providing Early Intervention solutions that will affect the developments during the first 1,000 days after conception.
Considerable research by The Wave Trust and others has shown that this is a highly sensitive time in the development of our faculties (e.g. 1,001 Critical Days: The Importance of the Conception to Age Two Period). People unfortunate enough to be in a hostile environment at that time and who experience Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are likely to be permanently damaged.
The For Baby’s Sake programme has been developed over the last 10 years as a result of the financial support, guidance and passion of the founder: Stelio Stefanou OBE. There is already evidence of the positive impact that it is achieving and this is further illustrated by the demand for the programme from many local authorities.
