WILD's proposal is to work with disadvantaged young parents in the poorest parts of Cornwall which have some of the highest levels of deprivation in Europe. Many of the young mums and dads suffer from the “Toxic Trio” of domestic abuse, poor mental health and drug / alcohol use. The funding is for holistic services including developing awareness of the impact of their own childhood issues, health and wellbeing, safety in the home, and community / family relations. The grant will pay for three part time workers. The beneficiaries will be motivated to get back on track with their lives, improve their parenting and to give their children the chance to grow up health and happy.
