Objectives

Subject to that over-riding qualification, the company's objects are:- 3.1 (a) To promote the general good of the community in the Orkney Islands and to assist the work of statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in advancing education, furthering health, improving craft skills, with a view to the preservation, promotion and improvement of fine craftsmanship, relieving poverty, sickness and distress, or in pursuing any other objects which are now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable. (b) to promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes and to that end bring together representatives of the authorities and organisations engaged in furtherance of the above purposes or any of them within the Orkney Islands. (c) to do all such things as may seem incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above purposes or any of them. 3.2 To acquire and take over the whole or any part of the undertaking and liabilities of Voluntary Services Orkney and of any person entitled to any property or rights suitable for any of the objects of the Company. 3.3 To purchase, take on feu, lease, hire, take in exchange, and otherwise acquire any property and rights which may be advantageous for the purposes of the activities of the Company. 3.4 To improve, manage, exploit, develop, turn to account and otherwise deal with all or any part of the undertaking, property and rights of the Company.
