Both the yoga and art practice can be ....more The Wellbeing Workshops will improve health and wellbeing by encouraging clients to develop skills that can be carried forward into their personal lives. Both the yoga and art practice can be continued within the home for low cost whilst the sound workshops provide a holistic healing experience particularly helpful for those who have experienced the trauma of sexual assault or rape. Yoga, art and sound therapy are catalysts for mindful practice helping clients to manage anxiety and achieve emotional wellbeing. The project will enable our clients to develop strategies for managing emotions and developing additional coping strategies enabling them to live lives focused on achieving their hopes, dreams and aspirations no longer being hindered by the abuse they have experienced. Facilitators of each of the programmes are also able to signpost participants onto regular classes if they choose to continue with new found skills in a more structure environment. Provision of a range of different workshops ensures clients will have a choice and will be able to choose which programme they want to engage with that might be most suitable to meed their own needs or a new interest they wish to pursue. Through engagement in the workshops it is expected that our clients will have a reduced sense of isolation, will be able to develop positive relationships with other members of the group. They will build greater emotional resilience and commitment to an activity which in turn can increase feelings of self esteem, self confidence and self efficacy.
