This project will:-Develop a suite of womens peer support groups convened, facilitated and supported by the local specialist womens organisations who already work together as the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Womens Consortium (CPWC). The groups will be run in different areas, and will help to reinforce and sustain the benefits of the work we already do with women whose mental health issues are often linked with other struggles such as the impact of violence, and intersecting realities such as age or ethnicity.Enable us to pool our experience of what works well, and share ways of connecting informal activities to participants 'recovery journeys' or other aims.Bring together peer group facilitators for mutual support and learning, face-to-face and through social media.Develop a network of peer support mentors, who are expert by experience.Share learning about how peer support has made a difference.Develop at least one group that connects through social media, particularly for those who may not always be able to get out.Our expertise is from the women we work with, staff, facilitators and volunteers, and from peer support mentors, who have benefited from peer support themselves. As consortium members we will support the women we work with to become part of the peer-support groups that this project will enable us to run, covering diverse needs across the area. The Cambridge Womens Resources Centre will coordinate the project and act as lead.
