We recently delivered two kick boxing sessions; this has gone down really well with the girls. After we all sat in a circle outside and talked about how it went and what came out of it was a need to feel they could protect themselves and feel powerful against the ‘boys’, further probing revealed they had heard rumours about bad men at the rec and so wanted to feel safer and kick boxing made them feel more in control and strong. We feel by being able to offer more sports activities, including kick boxing, it will help empower and expand their confidence giving them valuable life skills.
