    THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF EXPECTANT PARENTS AND PARENTS WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THEIR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY: (1) THE PROVISION OF CONFIDENTIAL PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR PARENTS WHO ARE FACING CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES THAT AFFECT THEIR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING, WHEN THEY ARE EXPECTING, OR LOOKING AFTER THEIR CHILDREN; (2) ENABLING PARENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN EXPECTING, OR LOOKING AFTER THEIR CHILDREN TO BECOME TRAINED PEER SUPPORTERS SO THAT THEY CAN HELP OTHER PARENTS TO COPE WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCES; (3) BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH PARENTS IN THE COMMUNITIES SERVED BY PARENTS FOR PARENTS – NORTH YORKS AND THE ORGANISATIONS WHICH WORK WITH THEM AND ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT INFLUENCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHARITY’S SERVICES; (4) RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE TYPES OF CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES THAT PARENTS CAN FACE WHEN EXPECTING, OR LOOKING AFTER THEIR CHILDREN AND HOW PEER SUPPORT CAN MITIGATE THE IMPACT OF THESE CIRCUMSTANCES ON THEIR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING.
