Little Gate Farm supports adults and children with Learning Disabilities & Autism. The charity creates opportunities for paid work for people who are currently excluded from employment. Funding was provided for a Healthy Eating Project, supporting work trainees to learn basic cooking skills, nutrition and food safety on a limited budget. It would also enable them to continue to support those who are most vulnerable with the delivery of supplies and shopping.

Littlegate Farm supports young people with learning disabilities into paid employment through work training at their site farm and supported employment in various work places in and around Hastings and Bexhill. The group will use funding to adapt its service and run more online support sessions including wellbeing workshops on subjects such as cooking and finances sharing coping strategies specifically for people with LD mindfulness sessions and technology training. The project will also run a crisis hotline.

This two-year project saw the development of ad-hoc life skills sessions into a structured programme of workshops teaching life skills to young adults who have a learning disability or autism from Hastings, St. Leonards and Bexhill. Workshops were on areas such as mental health, managing money and budgeting, managing relationships and planning healthy meals. The project was delivered at the farm, where beneficiaries already attended support sessions, and worked towards building cohesion.
