This expansion of an existing project will provide a helpline, outreach service and counselling for women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and historic child abuse. New aspects will be an expansion in service user numbers, training in literacy, numeracy and IT and the initiation of a personal development programme. The project offers the opportunity for verbalisation and catharsis, encourages empowerment, reduces shame, guilt, and isolation and enhances interpersonal and socialising skills.
