This is a new project based on a similar pilot, provided by The AHOY Centre that aims to engage young people aged 15-24 in a training programme. As well as training, they will be offered volunteering opportunities and employment skills to increase self-esteem, confidence and employability. They will learn skills such as boat repair, boat building, sailing and rowing alongside numeracy and literacy training, gaining apprenticeships and undertaking NVQ and Royal Yachting Association qualifications.
