TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION BY BEARING WITNESS OF THE GOSPEL IN THE TRADITION OF THE CONFESSION OF FAITH DRAWN UP AT PARIS IN 1559 (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE CONFESSION) AND OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES OF THE CHURCH PRIMARILY TOWARDS THE FRENCH SPEAKING COMMUNITY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. THE DISCIPLINE ECCLESIASTIQUE OF 1641, THE REGLEMENTS DU CONSISTOIRE OF 1754, THE REGLEMENTS DES ANCIENS OF 1767 AND SUBSEQUENT REGLEMENTS (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO TOGETHER AS THE REGLEMENTS) FORM THE HISTORICAL BASIS OF THE CHURCH'S PRACTICE AND DOCTRINE AND ITS ADHERENCE TO THE REGLEMENTS IS DECLARED AND AFFIRMED INSOFAR AS THE CONSISTORY DECIDES THEM TO BE APPROPRIATE TO CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
