We are seeking funding for a bed space at Amber's Farm Place centre in Ockley, Surrey that will give the opportunity for at least two young people from Surrey to transform their lives. Amber's goal is that the young people referred to us leave having achieved stable accommodation, employment or accessed further education or training. What makes Amber special is our tailored approach that is strengths-based and hands on. Based around the principles of restorative practice, our approach seeks to create positive behaviour change through a mix of active participation in our programme, wider community engagement and a focus on residents taking active responsibility for their own decisions.

This project will celebrate the Jubilee at Ashley Court which is the group's supported housing centre for young people in Devon. The young people living there have all experienced complex challenges including homelessness long term unemployment and mental ill health. It will consist of a series of creative workshops and sessions with creative partners to support young people to create their own music artwork and photographs. It will explore the young people's view on Britishness and what it means to them through art photography spoken word and music. This project will culminate in an open day in the summer which will give people the chance to exhibit the work they've created.

The funding will support vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged 16-30 years old to transform their lives by helping them move out of homelessness and unemployment. The project will target Surrey and the surrounding counties from their own residential centre Farm Place in Dorking which has been running since 2010. The Amber Foundation have been running for over 25 years and they support Young (16-30 year) homeless and unemployed people in crisis providing them with a temporary home a programme of support and all the space that they need to transform their lives. Amber provides a temporary safe place to live for 120 young people at one of their three residential centres in Surrey Wiltshire and Devon. They are also in the process of opening a fourth centre in Kent in April 2022 which will house a further 26 young people at any one time. Joe Wicks The Body Coach was appointed last year as a patron of Amber and strongly supports the work of the charity.

The Amber Foundation houses and supports troubled young people empowering them to leave their pasts behind them and move on to bright independent futures. This project, an integral part of our development programme, is a series of workshops and accredited training units to help them identify what has previously stood between them and employment, further education or training and a sustainable home of their own. The grant will pay for staff time to deliver this project alongside materials needed to deliver the sessions. Broadly the benefits to Amber residents from this project are threefold; residents gain important qualifications, they are supported to identify how they can positively move forward with their lives plus boosting their confidence by giving them a real sense of achievement.

Grant towards renovating a purposefully located building in a semi-rural location, giving homeless young people the space they need to rebuild their lives. The building has a warmth and a character that is central to our approach but there are challenges associated with an older property. We have completed phase 1 of our renovation plan and we are now seeking support to complete phase 2, which involves some priority infrastructure work, including a new treatment plant and removal of lead plumbing, the renovation of 5 bathrooms and new flooring in the communal space. This project will make a real impact on the day to day lives of those who call Amber home. It will not only make a difference to the way our residents feel about being here, but will ensure that the building is sustainable so that we can continue to transform the lives of young people in to the future.
